New Audi RS5 meets original 1980s Ur-Quattro on the track…

You’ll have to fast forward to see the original 1980s Ur-quattro (from 3:00 to 3:45).

Placing the cars together on a track connects them in an emotional and historical context, the Ur-quattro being the all-conquering rally god of its time while the RS 5 aims to sit atop its own modern segment. Don’t forget to pump up the volume.

Audi premiered the RS 5 at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show after many months of speculation surrounding its powertrain. Officially it has a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8 making 331 kW (444 bhp/ 450 PS) and torque of 430Nm (317 lb-ft), all sent to the four wheels via the quattro AWD system and a 7-speed S Tronic transmission.
